As a Primary Care Physician here in Bradenton, Florida, my clinic is facing an exhausting daily onslaught. We are absolutely swarmed with requests from local home health care agencies pushing for signatures on care plans. While genuine home health care is a vital resource for homebound patients, the sheer volume of these requests points to a systemic crisis.

Too often, what we are actually witnessing is a coordinated effort by crooked agencies and complicit patients to run up massive, fraudulent bills at the expense of taxpayers and the Medicare system.

The Anatomy of the Collusion: It Takes Two

For a home health fraud scheme to succeed, it typically requires a dishonest partnership between the provider and the patient. In a classic Medicare scam, the billing cannot happen without a patient’s Medicare number and their compliance.

[Crooked Agency] + [Complicit Patient] —> [Forged/Coerced PCP Signature] —> [Taxpayer Medicare Payout]

The Crooked Agency’s Role

Corrupt agencies deploy “marketers” or recruiters into local Bradenton communities, senior centers, or independent living facilities. They are hunting for Medicare numbers. To get them, they offer kickbacks to patients, which might include cash, free groceries, or unnecessary medical supplies. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Once they have the patient’s information, the agency generates paperwork for services that are completely unnecessary—such as physical therapy for someone who walks fine, or skilled nursing for someone who can manage their own medications. [5]

The Complicit Patient’s Role

The fraud often falls apart without a “crooked patient” willing to play along. These individuals allow their Medicare numbers to be billed for services they do not need and never actually receive. [6]

By signing off on fake visit logs or accepting bribes, these patients become active participants in defrauding the very system designed to protect them in their vulnerable years.

The PCP as the Gatekeeper (and the Target)

Medicare strictly requires a physician to certify that home health services are medically necessary and that the patient is truly homebound. This puts local PCPs directly in the crosshairs of fraudulent agencies.

Because we stand between them and a massive taxpayer payout, our offices are bombarded with faxed face-to-face evaluation forms, rapid-fire phone calls, and high-pressure tactics to get our signatures.

•	The Signature Trap: Agencies often bury these orders in massive stacks of routine paperwork, hoping an exhausted physician will sign them without looking.
•	The Forgery Risk: If a PCP refuses to sign because the patient isn’t homebound, some corrupt agencies will simply forge the doctor’s signature or find a rogue, corrupt doctor to sign off instead.

The True Cost to Bradenton Taxpayers and Seniors

When these two sides collude to run up the bill, the consequences extend far beyond a line item on a government budget:

•	Depleting the Medicare Trust Fund: Billions of taxpayer dollars are siphoned away into private pockets instead of funding legitimate healthcare needs.
•	Corrupting Medical Records: When a patient agrees to fake home health care, their official medical record permanently reflects that they are “homebound” and require skilled assistance. This can negatively impact their ability to qualify for future medical equipment, life insurance, or legitimate care down the road.
•	Administrative Burnout: Clinical staff spend hours auditing, vetting, and rejecting fraudulent home health requests instead of focusing on direct patient care.

Protecting Our Community

Combating this requires vigilance from both physicians and honest patients. Doctors must strictly enforce face-to-face documentation rules and refuse to sign orders from aggressive, unknown agencies.

Meanwhile, honest seniors should regularly review their Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) to ensure no agency is billing for services they never received. If you suspect home health fraud in our area, it can be reported directly to the HHS Office of Inspector General or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE

LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL — Step into almost any medical clinic in the United States today, and the scene is identical: a highly trained physician sits with their back to the patient, clicking through endless drop-down menus on a computer screen.

For a decade, this tech-driven isolation has been blamed on general “bureaucracy.” Federal investigations and healthcare reform debates have frequently pointed to the administrative burden of electronic health records (EHRs) as the primary driver of a nationwide doctor burnout epidemic.

But an emerging movement of independent practitioners is blowing the whistle on a deeper, systemic deception. American doctors, they argue, have been systematically misled by their own software vendors—forced to abandon the precise language of medicine to serve as data-entry clerks for the multi-billion-dollar insurance industry.

The Two Languages of Medicine

At the heart of this digital hijacking is a hidden conflict between two profoundly different computerized languages operating behind the clinic walls:

•	SNOMED CT: The true language of medicine. Developed by clinicians, this granular database contains over 350,000 highly specific medical concepts. It allows a doctor to document the exact, complex physiological truth of an illness.

•	ICD-10: The language of insurance. Maintained by administrative bodies, this rigid classification system exists primarily to bucket illnesses into generalized categories so insurance company computers can process a monetary claim.

“The public believes the doctor is typing out a careful medical narrative to track their healing,” says one Florida-based practitioner utilizing open-source informatics software. “In reality, the software is forcing the doctor to translate that healing into a billing code before they are even allowed to close the chart.”

How Software Misled a Generation

The hijacking began in earnest during the federal rollout of the HITECH Act, which incentivized hospitals and clinics to adopt EHR systems. To ensure health systems could easily collect payments, commercial software giants built their primary “Assessment” and diagnosis search bars to query the administrative ICD-10 database directly, bypassing the clinical SNOMED engine.

As a result, a generation of American medical residents was trained to view patients through the restrictive lens of billable codes rather than clinical descriptions. Doctors began altering their clinical thought processes to match the rigid, sometimes bizarre phrasing required to clear insurance filters and protect hospital revenue.

The software did not adapt to the physician; the physician was forced to adapt to the software.

The Cash-Only Resistance

Now, a growing contingent of direct-care and cash-only practitioners is staging a quiet rebellion. By cutting out third-party health insurance companies entirely, these doctors have discovered a liberating loophole: the mandate to use ICD-10 codes completely evaporates.

Free from the constraints of insurance reimbursement, these clinicians are reconfiguring platforms like OpenEMR to completely hide billing interfaces, allowing them to chart exclusively in the rich, descriptive taxonomy of SNOMED CT.

For the average American patient, this technical shift represents a profound return to traditional care:

•	Restored Eye Contact: Doctors spend their time looking at the patient’s face, not hunting for compliant billing phrases to avoid an insurance denial.

•	An Uncompromised Record: A patient’s permanent medical file reflects clinical truth rather than an administrative compromise chosen to get a claim paid.

•	A Cure for Burnout: By eliminating the artificial documentation burden, physicians are rediscovering the core of their profession.
The crushing digital workload that forces American doctors to spend hours on “pajama time” charting late into the night is not an inherent part of modern science. It is an artificial byproduct of the insurance-billing complex. And as independent clinics are proving, when you change the business model, you restore the medicine.
________________________________________

In today’s high-tech world, patients often assume their Protected Health Information (PHI) is under lock and key. However, the reality behind platforms like Healow and various Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) is far more complex. While your doctor is bound by strict ethics, the digital systems holding your data often operate in a legal “grey zone” where your private information is a valuable commodity.

The Grey Market: How Data is Sold and Shared

When you use a health app or patient portal, you may inadvertently step outside the protective bubble of HIPAA. This creates a significant loophole: while HIPAA regulates “covered entities” like hospitals and doctors, it often does not apply to third-party digital apps once you grant them access to your records.

To bypass privacy laws, companies often “de-identify” data by removing names. However, modern AI has changed the game. It can now triangulate “anonymized” records with other public data sets to re-identify patients,

rendering traditional privacy protections obsolete. This has fueled a multibillion-dollar industry of data brokers who collect, package, and sell this information to pharmaceutical companies, advertisers, and even foreign entities—often without the doctor or patient ever knowing.

Foreign Mining and the Gap in Outdated Laws

The threat isn’t just commercial; it’s geopolitical. Outdated laws haven’t kept pace with the ability of foreign nations to mine American health data. Because HIPAA does not explicitly prohibit PHI from being stored on offshore servers, entities in “countries of concern” can acquire bulk sensitive data from brokers to build surveillance profiles or gain economic advantages. While the Department of Justice has recently moved to restrict some of these transfers, the vast majority of this international grey market remains unregulated.

AI as a Tool for Data Exploitation

While AI helps doctors diagnose diseases, it is also being weaponized by data miners. AI is now used to automate the scraping of vast databases, significantly lowering the barrier for brokers to exploit personal health patterns. Furthermore, predictive profiling allows these systems to analyze lifestyle and genetic data to forecast a patient’s future health risks—information that is highly sought after by insurers and foreign regimes alike.

Most patients are blissfully unaware…. Middle men entities invite patients to share their most intimate data with them, do nothing in return and then sell that data wholesale. To some patients, they couldn’t care less, for others, it’s the most important thing in the world to them. It’s akin to be paraded around naked in front of strangers from other countries, really. – Dr. K

Empowering Patients at East County Internal Medicine

As a patient, you have the right to access your data, but vigilance is required. It is essential to read the fine print in the privacy policies of health apps to see how they share “Personal Information” with affiliates or third parties. At East County Internal Medicine, we believe that your health journey should be private. Understanding where your data goes is the first step in reclaiming ownership over your most personal information.
——————————

Imagine calling your doctor’s office because you’re feeling unwell, only to be told your primary care physician (PCP) has “moved…

Imagine calling your doctor’s office because you’re feeling unwell, only to be told your primary care physician (PCP) has “moved on” or that you’ll be seeing a different nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) every time you visit.
For many, this isn’t a hypothetical—it’s the new reality. Recent data highlights a troubling shift: 94% of physicians report that corporate and administrative burdens have made operating a solo practice nearly impossible, leading to the widespread acquisition of independent offices by large hospital systems. This corporate consolidation is the primary driver behind why so many patients feel like they are in a “revolving door” system where they rarely see the same provider twice.

What is Continuity of Care?

True continuity of care isn’t just about having a medical record; it’s about a long-term relationship with one physician who knows your history, your family, and your health goals. When you see the same doctor over years, you aren’t just getting a diagnosis—you’re getting a partner in your health.

The Problem: Corporate “Switch-Ups”

In large corporate clinics, doctors are often employees who are moved between locations or replaced by mid-level providers to cut costs. While NPs and PAs are vital parts of the medical community, many patients feel “slighted” or frustrated when they are unable to see their actual doctor for complex or ongoing needs.

This fragmentation leads to:

Wasted Time: Re-explaining your history at every appointment.

Missed Cues: A new provider might not notice subtle changes in your health that a long-term doctor would catch immediately.

Poorer Outcomes: Research shows that losing a consistent PCP leads to a significant increase in emergency department visits and higher overall healthcare spending.

The Rare Exception: East County Internal Medicine

While independent solo practices are becoming unheard of on both a local and national scale, East County Internal Medicine remains dedicated to the “old school” way of practicing medicine.
Since 2013, patients in Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton have enjoyed the rare privilege of seeing the same physician: Shaan Kunwar, DO.
As an independent, physician-owned practice, we don’t answer to corporate boards or insurance quotas. This independence allows us to offer:

Direct Access: When you book an appointment, you see Dr. Kunwar—every single time.
Better Results: Patients who have a long-term relationship with their doctor report significantly higher satisfaction and better management of chronic conditions.

Trust: We know your name, your history, and your health.

In a world of corporate healthcare, finding a doctor who stays is a big deal. At East County Internal Medicine, we aren’t just treating symptoms; we’re honoring the lifelong partnership between doctor and patient.
——————————
“An informed patient is a healthier patient.”

By Shaan Kunwar, DO

As medical cannabis integration becomes a standard consideration in internal medicine, patients in Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton often inquire about the tangible differences between regulated medical products and those acquired through the illicit or “street” market. From a clinical perspective, this is not merely a matter of legal compliance; it is a critical evaluation of product safety, biochemical consistency, and therapeutic reliability.

Rigorous Phytosanitary Standards and Contaminant Screening

One of the most significant risks associated with the illicit market is the presence of unverified contaminants. Regulated medical cannabis in Florida is subject to stringent “seed-to-sale” tracking and third-party laboratory testing to ensure products are free from harmful agents.

In contrast, illicit products frequently contain high levels of:

Heavy Metals: Lead, arsenic, and mercury often present in unmonitored soil. Microbial Pathogens: Aspergillus, E. coli, and Salmonella, which pose severe risks to immunocompromised patients.
Residual Solvents and Pesticides: Including prohibited fungicides like myclobutanil, which can release toxic hydrogen cyanide when combusted or vaped.

At East County Internal Medicine, we emphasize that every product purchased through a licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC) comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA), providing verified data on its safety profile.

Biochemical Consistency and Precision Dosing

Effective medical treatment requires a predictable dose-response relationship. Illicit cannabis is typically bred for maximum THC concentration, often neglecting the complex interplay of secondary cannabinoids and terpenes that contribute to the “entourage effect.”

Medical-grade cannabis allows for a tailored approach to patient care:

Standardized Ratios: We can recommend specific THC:CBD ratios—such as 1:1 or CBD-dominant formulations—which are essential for managing conditions like chronic pain or anxiety without the adverse psychoactive effects associated with high-potency street flower.

Alternative Delivery Systems: Beyond combustible flower, the medical program provides access to metered-dose inhalers, transdermal patches, and high-quality tinctures that allow for precise titration and long-acting relief.

Legal Framework and Patient Protection

Navigating the legal landscape is essential for patient security. Utilizing cannabis without a valid Florida Medical Marijuana Card—even for legitimate health concerns—leaves individuals vulnerable to criminal prosecution.

By establishing a formal physician-patient relationship at our Bradenton office, patients gain:

Legal Immunity: Protection under Florida’s Amendment 2 for the possession and use of certified medication.

Professional Oversight: Continuous monitoring to mitigate potential drug interactions with existing prescriptions and to adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.

For those in the 34211 and surrounding areas seeking a professional, evidence-based approach to cannabinoid therapy, we invite you to schedule a consultation. Our goal is to move beyond the “mystery” of unregulated products and toward a structured, safe, and effective medical regimen.

“An informed patient is a healthier patient.”

At East County Internal Medicine (ECIM), we believe in empowering our patients with more than just high-level summaries. For patients managing the intersection of hyperlipidemia and diabetes, the decision to initiate high-intensity therapy like Atorvastatin 40mg is rooted in robust, evidence-based data that quantifies risk reduction with precision.

Clinical Analysis: One Year of High-Intensity Atorvastatin 40mg
For a 47-year-old male with controlled diabetes and hyperlipidemia, the goal of therapy extends beyond just “lowering numbers.” It is about a fundamental shift in the 10-year and annual risk of Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events (MACE).

1. Quantifying Relative Risk Reduction (RRR)
Large-scale clinical data, including the CARDS trial (specifically focused on diabetic populations) and the ASCOT-LLA study, provide a clear framework for what a high-intensity dose can achieve:

Overall MACE Reduction: Approximately 37%. This composite endpoint includes non-fatal myocardial infarction (heart attack), stroke, and coronary revascularization procedures.

Stroke-Specific Prevention: A notable 48% reduction. Stroke prevention is a critical component of statin therapy in diabetic patients, often showing statistical divergence from placebo groups within the first 12 to 18 months.

Acute Coronary Events: Approximately 36% reduction in the risk of myocardial infarction.

2. Absolute Risk Reduction (ARR) and NNT

While relative percentages are striking, absolute risk reduction (ARR) provides a more technical look at the actual number of events prevented in a real-world setting:

Annual Impact: In a high-risk population, starting therapy prevents approximately 9 major events per 1,000 patients in the very first year.

Long-term Projection: Over a 4-year period, this translates to preventing roughly 37 major vascular events per 1,000 patients.

Number Needed to Treat (NNT): For diabetic patients with additional risk factors, the NNT to prevent one major cardiovascular event over 4-5 years is often as low as 27, making it one of the most efficient preventive interventions in modern medicine.

3. Pharmacological Impact on LDL-C

Atorvastatin 40mg is classified as high-intensity therapy, designed to achieve a reduction in LDL-cholesterol of 50%. For patients with diabetes, current [AHA/ACC guidelines]

Target an LDL-C of < 70 mg/dL, or even < 55 mg/dL if additional “risk enhancers” are present.

The ECIM Approach: Beyond the Prescription

At East County Internal Medicine, Dr. Kunwar emphasizes that evidence-based medicine is not a “one-size-fits-all” model. For a 47-year-old, we also monitor:

Metabolic Synergy: Ensuring that statin therapy does not negatively impact glycemic control, though the cardiovascular benefit of the statin nearly always outweighs the minor risk of blood sugar elevation in controlled diabetics.

Safety Monitoring: Regular assessment of liver transaminases and vigilance for myalgias (muscle pain) to ensure long-term adherence.

Personalized Risk Scoring: Utilizing the ASCVD Risk Estimator to tailor therapy based on your specific biomarkers and lifestyle.

It’s an important discussion to have with your patients so they can make an informed decision on this pertinent healthcare topic.

“An informed patient is a healthier patient.”

At East County Internal Medicine (ECIM), a referral isn’t a “hand-off”—it’s a guided transition. One of the most common complaints in modern healthcare is that patients leave a specialist’s office feeling overwhelmed or confused about an upcoming procedure. Shaan Kunwar, DO , changes that dynamic.

The Specialist’s “Blind Spot”
Specialists are experts in their technical craft, but their focus is often narrow. They may explain a procedure in highly technical terms or assume a level of medical knowledge that most patients don’t have. This can lead to anxiety, missed preparations, or a lack of clarity about the recovery process.

The “Better Explanation” Experience
Patients at ECIM frequently report a surprising trend: Dr. Kunwar explains their upcoming procedure better than the specialist performing it.

Because Dr. Kunwar acts as your primary diagnostician, he understands your specific physiology and how a procedure fits into your overall health “puzzle.”

He takes the time to:

Translate the Jargon: Breaking down “medical-speak” into plain English.
Set Realistic Expectations: Explaining exactly what you will feel, how long the recovery takes, and what the “day-of” looks like.
Answer the “Why”: Ensuring you understand how this specific procedure solves the diagnosis he previously identified.

Why We Only Partner with the Best
Because Dr. Kunwar knows exactly what to expect from his affiliates, he only refers to specialists whose work—and outcomes—he trusts implicitly. When he walks you through what to expect, he is speaking from years of experience with these specific practitioners

A Partnership for Your Peace of Mind
When you receive a referral from East County Internal Medicine, you aren’t walking into the unknown. You are walking into a procedure with a clear map provided by a doctor who knows you best.

At ECIM, we don’t just find the problem; we make sure you are 100% comfortable with the solution.

If you’ve been following health news lately, you might have noticed a major shift in how we talk about Hormone…

If you’ve been following health news lately, you might have noticed a major shift in how we talk about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). After decades of mixed messages, we are seeing a “hormone renaissance.” Patients in our Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton communities are increasingly asking about HRT—not just to “get by,” but to reclaim their quality of life.

At East County Internal Medicine, we believe in looking at the whole person. As a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician, I’ve seen firsthand how a one-size-fits-all approach often fails. Here is why HRT has regained its rightful place in modern medicine and how we’re helping our neighbors find relief through customized care.

Why is HRT Suddenly Everywhere?

For years, a cloud of controversy hung over hormone therapy. This largely stemmed from the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study, which many experts now view as outdated because it focused on older women starting therapy much later in life.

The tide has officially turned. In November 2025, the FDA announced the removal of broad “black-box” warnings on many HRT products, acknowledging that for most women under 60, the benefits of treating menopausal symptoms far outweigh the risks. We now have:

Safer Delivery Methods: Options like transdermal patches and gels bypass the liver, significantly lowering the risk of blood clots compared to older oral pills.

Better Research: New data shows that starting HRT within 10 years of menopause can actually support heart health and bone density.

Benefits for Women: More Than Just “Hot Flashes”

While HRT is the “gold standard” for night sweats and hot flashes, its benefits go much deeper. Many of my female patients come to me seeking relief from:

Brain Fog and Mood Swings: Hormonal shifts can make you feel like a different person; HRT helps stabilize that “emotional rollercoaster”.

Bone Health: HRT is a powerful tool for preventing the bone loss that leads to osteoporosis.

Intimacy: We provide tailored treatments for vaginal dryness and low libido, helping women feel like themselves again in their most personal moments.

Benefits for Men: Restoring Vitality

Hormone health isn’t just a “women’s issue.” Men experience a gradual decline in testosterone that can impact every facet of life. At our clinic, we help men address:

Low Libido and Sexual Health: Restoring testosterone levels can revitalize energy and drive.

Physical Performance: Many men find they can rebuild muscle mass and lose stubborn weight more effectively.

Mental Clarity: If you’re struggling with “brain fog” or a lack of motivation at work, a customized hormone plan can sharpen your focus.

The Importance of a “Least Invasive” Approach

The “controversy” around HRT often comes from poorly managed treatments or “one-size-fits-all” clinics. At East County Internal Medicine, we do things differently.

My philosophy is rooted in Evidence-Based Medicine with a least-invasive approach. We don’t just hand out prescriptions; we start with comprehensive diagnostics to understand your specific deficiencies.

Customized Plans: Your body is unique, so your hormone levels should be too.

Consistency: Unlike large corporate clinics where you see a different person every time, you will always work directly with me—Dr. Shaan Kunwar—whether in-person or via secure telehealth.

Take the Next Step

We are diagnosing and treating more people every day, providing them with the relief they’ve been searching for. If you’re feeling “off”—whether it’s exhaustion, low libido, or menopausal symptoms—don’t wait.

Are you ready to see if a customized hormone plan is right for you? Schedule online today or call us at today at (941) 727-7771 to schedule your consultation.

We’re here to help you live your best life, right here in our local community.

Do you have any specific symptoms or health goals you’d like to discuss during your first visit?

At East County Internal Medicine, we know that managing weight is about more than just willpower—it’s about biology. For many of our patients in Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton, the high cost of effective treatments like Wegovy® has been a major hurdle.

That is why we are excited to announce a game-changer: Novo Nordisk’s new NovoCare® program. This initiative makes getting FDA-approved, branded Wegovy® faster, cheaper, and more direct than ever before.

What is the NovoCare® Program?

NovoCare® Pharmacy is a new direct-to-patient service from the makers of Wegovy®. It is specifically designed to help self-pay patients—those without insurance coverage for weight loss—access authentic medication at a fraction of the traditional retail price.

The “Big Three” Benefits: Faster, Cheaper, Branded

* CHEAPER: Drastic Price Reductions
Forget the $1,300+ retail list price. Through the NovoCare® cash-pay program, you can now access branded Wegovy® for significantly less:

* Wegovy® Injection (Weekly): $199/month for starter doses (through March 31, 2026) and $349/month for maintenance doses.

* Wegovy® Pill (Daily): As low as $149/month for starter doses (introductory pricing through April 15, 2026) and $299/month for higher doses.

* BRANDED: Authentic, FDA-Approved Quality

With the rise of unregulated “compounded semaglutide,” safety is a top concern. This program provides authentic, branded Wegovy® in the high-quality, single-dose Novo Nordisk pen. You get the peace of mind that comes with a medication that has been rigorously tested and FDA-approved for safety and efficacy.

Why Choose East County Internal Medicine for Your Journey?

If you live in Lakewood Ranch or Bradenton, you’ve noticed them: urgent care centers popping up on every corner like fast-food joints. They promise speed and convenience, but for many of our neighbors, the reality is a long wait in a crowded lobby, a stack of repetitive paperwork, and—worst of all—substandard care that doesn’t actually solve the problem.

At East County Internal Medicine, we see it all the time: a patient spends hours and a high copay at a local urgent care, only to end up in our office a few days later because the “quick fix” didn’t work. Here is why your PCP is actually the faster, smarter choice for your health.

The “Instant” Service You Didn’t Know Existed

Many patients are surprised to learn that Shaan Kunwar, D.O. offers nearly instant service through telehealth. If you’re feeling under the weather and need a consultation or an antibiotic, you don’t necessarily need to drive down State Road 70 or University Parkway.

With a simple telehealth visit, you can speak with Dr. Kunwar from your own couch. Because you are an established patient, we can often consult and send a prescription to your local pharmacy in a fraction of the time it takes to even get checked in at a walk-in clinic.

No More Redundant Paperwork

Every time you walk into an urgent care, you are a stranger. That means 15 minutes of “clipboard duty”—filling out your history, your allergies, and your insurance info over and over again. At East County Internal Medicine, we already know you. Your records, your medication history, and your preferences are at our fingertips. This doesn’t just save time; it ensures your safety by preventing dangerous drug interactions that a busy, high-volume urgent care provider might overlook.

The Problem with Substandard “Transactional” Care

Urgent cares are built for volume, not relationships. They often provide “band-aid” medicine—treating a single symptom without looking at the bigger picture of your health. We frequently see patients who were given the wrong dosage or an ineffective antibiotic at a clinic, only to have their symptoms return. When you see Dr. Kunwar, you’re seeing a board-certified Internist who understands your long-term health goals. We don’t just want to get you out the door; we want to get you well.

Skip the “Double Pay” and the Waiting Room

Don’t pay an expensive urgent care co-pay only to realize you still need to see your primary doctor to get the right treatment. By making East County Internal Medicine your first call, you ensure the job is done right the first time. The next time you’re feeling ill, don’t settle for the “convenience” of a neon sign.

Experience the efficiency and expertise of a doctor who actually knows your name.

Need to be seen? Skip the line and contact us today to schedule a telehealth or in-office appointment at our Gatewood Drive location in Lakewood Ranch.

“An informed patient is a healthier patient.”
